Forecasters are beginning to watch the weather pattern developing, expecting to see severe weather return to Oklahoma between May 5-7. The highest risk for severe weather is already being forecast for Wednesday.

I don't know whether to be excited or scared. Now that I've watched funnel clouds forming (last Thursday, May 1st), I think I've got the bug. I read this and thought, "Wonder if the roommate works Wednesday...?" thinking if he doesn't, I may grab the camera and talk the other roommate into doing a little storm watching outside of town.

There's a really high hill not far from where we live, so that might be a good place to get some pictures of the storm, even at night. I may have to dig out the old .35mm I have packed away and get some 1000 ASA film for it---if they still make it! Nothing like working with that camera for capturing fantastic pictures of weather.

Living in Florida as I did, we got to see all kinds of wonderful lightning storms. I saw one over Cape Kennedy once where lightning was striking all around one of the shuttles on the launch pad. Now THAT was a cool storm...!

Good luck with the chasing on Wednesday. You may see Loni and I out there at some point!

Morgan

Most people.

Most people when they get out there and chase a couple times, they do get the "bug". It was that way with me. Wednesday is really shaping up to be a good day for storms, with the more active areas SE of Tulsa.

Be safe and I hope to see you out there!
